ABOUT KIDS CAMP
The most fun they'll have all summer! Kids’ Surf Camp in Rye, NH
Summer Sessions is the absolute best place in New Hampshire for kids to learn to surf. Kids’ Surf Camp is the perfect way for new surfers to learn and progress in the sport alongside their friends. The camp is designed to introduce kids (age 6-16) to surfing in a safe and fun environment. No experience necessary and all equipment is included!

Our instructors will work with your child to help get them accustomed to the mechanics and timing of the waves as well as teach them the skills to enjoy riding them. And they will have a tun of fun as well. If they have never surfed before, this is their chance to learn! If they have surfed before, our camps help refine their techniques and develop a foundation for more advanced maneuvers. Summer Sessions Kids Surf Camp is held in Rye, New Hampshire, at Sawyers Beach, just south of Jenness State Beach and only 3 Miles North of Hampton, NH.

SURF CAMP Q & A

What Time Is Camp?
Morning camp starts at 9:30-11:30am
Afternoon starts at 12:00-2:00pm

Where is Camp?
The camp meets at Sawyers Beach, not at the store. Sawyers Beach is 1/8 of a mile South of the store, directly across from Eel Pond. It will be easy to find since our big blue Summer Sessions bus will be parked there all morning and afternoon.

What Equipment is needed?
We bring all surfboards and wetsuits to the beach for all campers, so there is no need to check in at the store beforehand, unless you have a specific question. If campers have their own surf equipment, boards or wetsuits, they are encouraged to bring them. We encourage them to be learning on their own gear, but we will also bring enough equipment for all campers.
What to Bring?
Campers only need to bring a typical beach bag; a swim suit, towel and sun block (and maybe a sweatshirt if the weather is rainy). We provide Snack-bars, Gatorade and all surf equipment to the beach, but should your child have any allergies, please provide a snack for them to bring to camp.

Where is Parking ?
Sawyers Beach is Rye Beach Town Sticker permit parking only. It is DROP OFF AND PICK UP ONLY at Sawyers Beach. We hold camp there because it is the least crowded of Rye’s beaches and it is the safest place for the campers to surf.

When dropping off or parking, please do not double park, do not park in front of the pond and do not temportarily park illegally with your hazards on. You will be ticketed, and the town has been strictly enforcing the parking rules this season.

Where can I park to stay at Camp if I dont have a Rye Town Sticker?
-
You can find Free parking along Ocean Blvd. (please obey road parking signs, shoulder lanes and driveways)
-
You can find Paid parking at the metered parking lots at Jenness State Beach
-
You can find Paid Beach parking located behind Summer Sessions Surf Shop (this is beach parking, not our parking)

It can get very busy at the beach during summer, so make sure you have enough time to drop off and park if you’re coming to stay for the day. We LOVE having parents stay and watch the camp, but please, please obey all parking rules.

What happens when there is Bad Weather?
Camp is on rain or shine! Even if there is rain, we are getting wet anyways, so camp will go on. The only time we cancel camp is if there is thunder and lightning, and in that case we will email or call all families to let them know camp is cancelled. If a storm starts while we are at camp, then all campers will be walked back to the Surf Shop for pick-up.

Where do we pick up Kids' Camp Tees and Water Bottles?
On Friday after camp, you can come to the Surf Shop Rental station to pick up your Kids Camp t-shirt and bottle.

If you have any further questions, feel free to send us an email or give us a call at the shop.
