Another great experience with Summer Sessions Surf camp! Wolfe loved it (he went the first week). It was unreal to watch the kids jump feet first into the surf and to take off almost immediately with riding the waves in. Equally great, was watching the way your staff interacts with the children- they are amazing! It was so clear to everyone watching that their energy, spirit and general enthusiasm helped the kids feel comfortable and eager to live the experience fully. Thank you for a job well done and for providing such a wonderful experience for my kid to continue to build his excitement and passion for surfing.

I want to tell you how incredibly impressed I was with the class. All the instructor's were enthusiastic and helpful. There was never a kid in the water who was not being watched over by a counselor. And, most important, the kids were having an absolute blast! You have hooked my daughter on surfing for a long time I'm sure. I would highly, highly recommend this camp to anyone. My children, Gates and Robbie MacPherson, just wrapped up this week’s summer camp today. I wanted to tell you what a fabulous experience they had! We are so sad it is over. I was so impressed with your staff. They were phenomenal; extremely attentive, watchful and most of all, fun! Well done! You’ve officially hooked two new kids on surfing. Just want to give you guys some kudos for an excellent time. I really appreciate the fact that even though we were late for our lesson and you guys were very busy, you took the time to make sure we got started and had our boards for the day. Even with the abbreviated time for our lesson, the instructors did an excellent job. It turned out to be a great family day and no one wanted to get out of the water or go home at the end of the day. We all enjoyed it so much, that everyone is now wondering when we can go again and talking about buying boards, etc.

I'm not sure when, but I guarantee you will see us again, either all together or on separate occasions.

Mikey, Maddie and Calvin had an awesome time learning to surf with Shawn today. Mikey was asking me during dinner if it was "really expensive" because he wants to go again ASAP! I get the Aunt of the Year Award for giving them such a cool Christmas gift! My boy, Calvin, is a pretty reserved little dude, not a huge risk taker, so I was psyched to see how well he took to it. You definintely made him feel very comfortable, which is most appreciated. Thanks for a great experience. We'll be sure to tell all our friends, and we'll be back.... Mom is joining the fun next time!

Summer Session's Surf Shop:

So I've been talking about it for 10 years now.

The first time I drove up the slight hill and peered over the blue ocean at Long Sands, I knew I was finally home. I remember surveying the beach and taking a deep breath, and for a rare instance, being in the moment. And then I saw the specs of black in the gentle waves.

I asked my partner, "Are those seals?"

He looked. "They are surfers." he replied.

"In Maine?" I paused, refocusing my eyes like you do with binoculars. "In November?" He confirmed with his sweet smile.

"That is so cool!!!" I exclaimed as I ran down to the trickling waves and put my hand in the water, and tasted it to confirm in was salty. "I want to surf in November!"

10 years later, I live here. And now, because of your help, my dream will come true.

Thank you Summer Sessions for your excellent customer service. I was so confident in what I purchased after Tyler showed me the ins and outs of purchasing a wetsuit, boots, and gloves. And the price was totally reasonable and less than the price I had researched. You also showed me that I too could be a surfer, even though I do not have the slight frame of a surfer girl. I am a surfing mama.

After my surfing gear purchase, I took a brief nap with the over anxious 3 year old and 5 year old. When I woke up, my kids and I waxed my board with "Sticky Bumps" (I love the name of this product", got half way into the wetsuit, loaded the hubby, kids, and gear into the mini-van, and drove 5 minutes to Long Sands.

The waves were nothing and my hubby wondered if it was even worth me going out. But I confidently smiled, and looked at the ocean and said, "I have to start somewhere." I finished getting my awesome front zipper Ripcurl suit on. I rolled up the bottom of the legs and put on the two toed booties and overlapped the suit over the booties (just like you showed me at Summer Sessions). I put on the gloves, and with board in hand, I walked past my kids and partner, confident.

And even though the water was 48 degrees, I felt comfortable, at ease, and at home.

Thanks Summer Sessions for helping us learn to surf! My son and I recently had a lesson with Ryan, and had such a blast we got a beginner board that we could both use. Can't believe I've lived on the seacoast all my life and never surfed, now I'm obsessed and Danny's worse! We'll be back for another board soon. Thanks again guys!

My kids haven't stopped talking about your surf camps all winter! The instructors were all incredible, but a special thanks to Caitlin for helping Maggy feel comfortable in the water.
